Narrative: students come from various different
backgrounds and speak different languages. They have a variety of educational
levels in their native language.
Rationale: students need to learn how to read general information and specific details. Students need to learn how to read information and explain it to someone else in their own words.
Goal: students will be able to read short
stories and answer questions related to the story.
Objectives:

Materials: pictures, vocabulary word cards,
Claudio’s&Chul’s stories, handouts
Procedure:
1.
Introduction
(15 minutes): students move around the room and fill out “find someone who”
handout by asking questions to their classmates.
2.
Pre-teach
vocabulary words (10 minutes): teacher shows some pictures and students match
the pictures with the words.
3.
Activity
(20 minutes): students read the short stories about Claudio and Chul. After
reading, students answer the questions about these two short stories without
looking at the stories.
